El Born, one of the most charming neighborhoods in Barcelona

On this route you will discover the aromas, colors and flavors of four different regions from Spain. Enjoy typical traditional tapas selected especially for you. Visit the beautiful “Palau  de la Música Catalana”, a concert hall designed by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. In addition, you will discover a gothic church from the XIV century, Santa Maria del Mar. El Born Tour in Barcelona

Who?

El Born is perfect for families as well as tourists. It is a picturesque and cultural part of the city, with a vibrant café culture and bar scene.

But El Born isn’t just about the nightlife, there is plenty of culture to be had as well. It can be seen that Calle Montcada was also a medieval street, which is now home to the Picasso museum and the Textile Museum which has a lovely café with a terrace attached to it.

Nowadays people are most attracted to El Born for the shopping, which consists of some beautiful boutiques and shoe shops, in El Born you will find some of the trendiest shops around the city.

What?

One of The Barcelonian Day Tours is our gastronomic Born Tour experience, perfect way to get to know the city and its cuisine all in a 2-hour tour. We will show you the authentic Barcelona through four different regional Spanish cuisines on this unique tour: Pintxos from the Basque Country, classic Catalan tapas and Andalusian tapas.

Where?

El Born is between Via Laietana and Barceloneta and is served by the metro stops Barceloneta and Jaume 1 which are on the same line. Las Ramblas and the centre of the city are a pleasant 10 minute walk away.

The beach is also just a 10 minute walk away so you can have both a beach holiday and a city break in one. Plus you are quite close to the Parc Ciutadella, which is a relaxing place to sit in the afternoon.

When?

At The Barcelonian we believe in sustainable tourism and authenticity, we accomplish this with small groups, our Born Tour is never larger than 20 people per group and we only provide this unique tour once a week, on Wednesdays at 13:00.

Why?

This delightful corner of Barcelona has all the beauty of the Barri Gotic, with those characteristic narrow streets and quaint cafe-covered squares, but it’s just far enough removed from the beaten track to maintain a little more calm and charm.

Despite the popular tourist attractions of Picasso Museum, Ciutadella Park and more, the area has maintained a high degree of local life and you won’t be surrounded at every corner by English-speaking voices alone.

Come with us to discover this beautiful district in Barcelona!
