Fairy forests are hard to find, and El Bosc de les Fades is no exception. If you are visiting Barcelona and feel like seeing something truly different, make your way towards the end of La Rambla and go into the alleyway of Passatge de la Banca, located in the Gothic Quarter of the city. There you will find the magical Fairies’ Forest, in catalan named El Bosc de les Fades.
The bar, which is part of the wax museum, will take you on a journey to another world.
The atmosphere makes customers feel immersed in a forest surrounded by trees, streams and water sources, caves, tree trunk tables and protruding rocks. The surrounding darkness is lit by small lanterns.
This wonderful café has many surprises to be discovered, like optical illusions, demons lurking in mirrors and, of course, sweet and beautiful fairies. There is even an area of the café with a haunted room complete with scary figures, including a floating person and “apparitions”.
If you are in the area of the Port Vell and the Moll de la Fusta with kids, and you want to sit down and have a coffee, a muffin or a snack, El Bosc de les Fades is the place to go. It is not only a different cafe from the others, which already has its appeal, but children will enjoy and escape from the city, to soak in this fabulous fairy forest cafe.
As well as drinks the bar also offers tapas at reasonable prices, and also El Bosc de les fades is said to offer some of the best cocktails in town. Sounds like a fairy tale! This is a great bar to check out for a quick drink after walking Las Ramblas or a long day on the beach.
We love Catalonia. We love Barcelona. We want you to fall in love with it too.
