5 best things to do in barcelona - Palau Güell

We know coming to somewhere new for the first time can be overwhelming wherever you go. That’s why we decided to help you out on the 5 must do’s in Barcelona!

Number one, obviously you have to see the incredible masterpieces of Gaudí, whether its walking up Passeig de Gràcia admiring Casa Batllo and La Pedrera, having a stroll around Park Güell, visiting la Sagrada Familia or maybe starting from the beginning at Casa Vicens. Gaudí is all around the city, just keep your eyes open!

Second essential to do in Barcelona, discover the Gothic Quarter of our amazing city! Wander around its narrow medieval streets, see the remains of the roman city, visit the Cathedral of Barcelona, have a stop at Els Quatre Gats, a café which was a popular meeting place for famous artists, such as Ramon Casas, Pablo Picasso had his first exhibition here and Antoni Gaudí.

Also high on our list…. find time to relax and enjoy with some wine and tapas, personally, this is my favourite thing to do! The barrio of Gràcia has some fantastic squares for people watching, where you can sit out and soak up the sun and the atmosphere. You will almost always find some of the locals hanging out and having improvised jam sessions, while kids run around, playing with the water fountains. El Born is also a great place to have a bite to eat, it has loads of Tapa Bars and it shouldn’t be too hard to find some live music for later on.

We can’t let you go home without a bit of a tan!… yep, It’s time to get to the beach! But before we lay in the sun for hours with some sangria why not discover the old fishing district with us ending at La Barceloneta beach!

And last but not least, go up the jewish mountain, Montjuïc, enjoy a walk around the mountain while taking in the magical views of our city. Why not end this great trip with the spectacular light show at the bottom of Montjuïc.

We love Barcelona. We love Catalonia. We want you to fall in love with it too!
